As a licensed mental health counselor for over 30 years, I often ask my clients this question: What in your life is beckoning you to grow?
Often, painful times and difficult situations are inviting us to do just that: to transform our lives, opening to new insights and stepping into new visions of what our lives can be.
In fact, life circumstances such as grief, transition, marital and relationship problems, stress, anxiety, depression, or a sense of being directionless and lost can offer some of life’s greatest opportunities to develop greater consciousness, understanding, insight, maturity, life skills, and personal power.
But it is very helpful to have a compassionate, trained, experienced guide through difficult and confusing times.
During my 33 years as a mental health counselor, I have been honored to serve as such a guide. I’ve counseled hundreds of people as they’ve journeyed through some of life’s deepest processes, breaking through to possibilities for more authentic, self-aware, and heart-fulfilling lives.
I work with individuals, couples, groups, older adolescents, step-families, and adoptive parents seeking to grow beyond their current difficulties. I approach each individual with compassion and reverence for the deep process that they are going through to become more truly themselves.
I use an integrated approach that can involve mind, emotions, body, and spirituality, taking cues from my clients about where they need to go and how best to help them get there.
So how about you? What in your life is beckoning you to grow?
